NIZAMABAD, MAR 30 (PTI)
Continuing their attack on government property, naxalites belonging to the outlawed People's War Group (PWG) blasted a railway station and a Revenue Divisional Office (RDO) in Andhra Pradesh since last night.
Six naxalites planted claymore mines at Gomanda railway station in Vizianagram district late last night, police said.
After asking the staff to leave, they set off the explosion, police said.
Before leaving, the ultras handed over a chit to the station master saying the action was taken to protest the arrest of PWG activists in the district, police said.
The ultras also snatched Rs 164 from the station master.
In another incident, two naxalites entered the RD office at Kamareddy, some 65 kms from here, in the wee hours today by breaking open the main gate and blasted it, Superintendent of police Shanka Braha Bagchi told PTI.
The naxals planted a landmine and detonated it damaging the front portion of the building, he said.
However, the Revenue Divisional Officer, staying in the building, escaped unhurt.
The naxalites belonging to PWG's Kamareddy area committee were responsible for the incident, the SP said adding the blast was carried out to protest Kasipeta encounter in Adilabad district last week.
